Lights, Camera, ACTION!

Join your friends and colleagues at the Guthrie Theater on Friday evening for a one-of-a-kind all-inclusive dinner and entertainment experience. Your evening includes dinner at Level 5 restaurant and a ticket to the famous musical Guys & Dolls.

The Guthrie Theater opened on May 7, 1963. The idea for the theater began in 1959 during a series of conversations among Sir Tyrone Guthrie and two colleagues – Oliver Rea and Peter Zeisler – who were disenchanted with Broadway. They wanted to create a resident theater that would perform the classics with the highest professional standards. The Guthrie symbolized for many the birth of the not-for-profit resident theater movement. Today, the theater’s pursuit of artistic excellence has remained constant, though much has changed. What began as a summer season of four productions supported by a minimal staff is now a complex organization operating year-round and employing more than 500 people.

Luck Be a Lady!

A swinging tale of gangsters, gamblers, and dolls, Guys and Dolls is one of the all-time classic American musicals. The show originally premiered on Broadway in 1950, and picked up five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Five years later it was adapted for the silver screen with Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando. The story follows the escapades of gamblers Nathan and Sly, who are prepared to bet it all for love.

Set on the glittering, jazz age street of New York, Guys and Dolls features numerous classic numbers, including ‘Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat,’ ‘Luck Be a Lady,’ and ‘My Time of Day’. This Guthrie production is sure to be an evening to remember!
